Ingredients

  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Zero-kcal sweetener, to taste, approximately 2 tbsp sugar equivalent
  • 1 tsp white or awase miso paste
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp five-spice powder
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • Optional: pinch chili powder or sriracha, to taste

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl or blender.
  2. Whisk or blend until completely smooth and glossy.
  3. Simmer gently for 3 to 5 minutes to deepen the flavour.
  4. Cool slightly. The sauce will thicken naturally as it rests.

  • 1 tsp white miso paste or awase miso paste
  • 1½ tbsp honey
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 small garlic clove, grated
  • 2 tsp water
  • ½ tsp sriracha sauce

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl or blender.
  2. Whisk or blend until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Taste and adjust salt, sweetness, or heat if needed.
  4. Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge.
