Roasted Carrots - Oil Free
A simple oil-free roasted carrot recipe with garlic, smoked paprika, and natural caramelised sweetness.
Ingredients
- 500g carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp dried thyme, optional
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2–3 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Place the carrots in a large bowl.
- Sprinkle over the garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the water and toss until the carrots are evenly coated.
- Spread the carrots in a single layer on the baking tray.
- Roast for 30–40 minutes, turning halfway through, until tender and caramelised around the edges.
- Serve immediately.
Optional Flavour Variations
- Honey & Cinnamon: Add 1 tsp honey and ½ tsp cinnamon before roasting.
- Herb Roasted: Add 1 tsp mixed dried herbs or rosemary.
- Spicy Roasted: Add ½ tsp chilli flakes or cayenne pepper.
- Lemon & Parsley: Finish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice after roasting.
Storage
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
